Nicola Gauge
Practice Manager

I have worked for the practice since 1989. I started working at the surgery as a receptionist and was promoted to secretary, then Assistant Practice Manager and became Practice Manager in 2004. I feel that I have gained a great deal of knowledge relating to the practice over the years, and also understand the changing needs of the local population.

I am responsible for the day to day management of Potton and Gamlingay surgeries. As a practice, we strive to offer a high standard of care to our patients and I will happily consider any suggestions which patients may have to further improve the services we offer.

Please address any complaints you may have to our manager, Nicola Gauge, who will deal with it speedily according to our complaints procedure.

Nursing Team

We have three Practice Nurses, two Emergency Care Practitioners and three Health Care Assistants working at both sites. The practice nurses are highly trained in their specialist areas and you can arrange your Diabetes review with Julia Fisher and your Asthma or COPD review with Nicola Webster without the need to see a GP. They also carry out a wide range of clinical nursing duties and health promotion. Some of our nurses are trained to deal with minor ailments and can prescribe medication. Our health care assistants will take blood, perform ECGs, NHS health checks and other diagnostic tests and participate in health promotion.

Practice team

The team is completed by our receptionists, secretarial and administrative staff.

You may see district nurses, midwives, counsellors, MSK specialists and other health care workers at the surgery too. These are not employed by the surgery, but work closely with us.
