We are happy to receive requests for repeat prescriptions in writing, by fax, by post or by selecting the "Order a repeat prescription" link within the "Quick links" section. We cannot accept requests over the telephone.

You can hand in your prescription at reception. Please remember to tick the item(s) you require on your repeat slip. This is on the white, right hand side that accompanies your prescription. Alternatively, we provide forms that you can use at the surgery.

The prescription will be ready for collection in 48 hours (two working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays) after we receive the request. If you are posting a prescription, please allow longer for us to receive it and send it back.

It may be possible to order your repeat medications on-line.  Please come into the surgery with photographic identification and register to use our on-line services.  Once you have been given a user name and password you will be able to access this service.

Prescription Charges

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.

The Government decided that NHS prescription charges will increase to £8.60 per item from 1 April 2017.  Pre-payment certificates will not be affected by this change.

Prescription pre-payment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £104.00.
  •   3-month PPC: £29.10.

For telephone advice and/or to order a PPC over the phone call 0845 850 0030.  To buy or renew a PPC online select the following link: Buy or renew a PPC on-line.
