The Practice processes many prescriptions on a daily basis and we have a team of Clinical Pharmacists who work remotely and support our GPs with patient medication reviews. The Pharmacists are highly qualified experts in medicine and can help in a number of ways. These include carrying out structured medication reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and improving patient safety.

When your medication is due for review, you may receive a message from our dispensary team, advising that you have a telephone appointment booked for a review with a Clinical Pharmacist. The Pharmacist will call you on the telephone number we have on your medical record and conduct a thorough medication review with you.

Following the review, the Pharmacist may ask you to book an appointment with one of our Phlebotomists for a blood test or a blood pressure check if they are due. If all is satisfactory, the Pharmacist will re-authorise your medication for a number of months.
